The Corona Golden Elite Track Club strives to ensure that the term “student athlete” really does retain its meaning. Our athletes are some of the best in the Nation. These i Booksmpressions stem from the fact that the Corona Golden Elite Track and field program is incredibly demanding and time intensive, but also from the fact that our athletes know that we will not coach them unless they are doing well in school!

A Job Well Done! Parents, and Coaches are all very proud of you! Keep up the good work!

Our inter-scholastic athletic program is neither a “frill” nor an “outside activity.” They have an enormous impact upon every student who participates.

We give recognition of a job well done with a GPA of 3.00 and above to the following:

The GET program is designed to provide one-on-one assistance with at-risk student-athletes, with a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or below. The student is expected to show progress and commitment to academics.

The G.E.T program will be comprised of the following components:

·Weekly meetings with the G.E.T Program Graduate Assistant

·An initial meeting allowing the graduate assistant to get to know the student and his/her strengths and weaknesses with the intent to increase the student’s awareness of available academic support.

·Weekly and semester goal setting – The student-athlete will set overall semester goals, including grade point average, class grades, and personal achievements. From the semester goals, smaller weekly goals will be set to monitor the student-athletes’ progress toward reaching the semester goal.

·Review of syllabi and class notes – Class notes will be reviewed on a weekly basis to ensure that students are organized and prepared.

·(3) Workshops per semester – Workshop topics will include: test-taking skills, effective goal-setting, effective studying, time management, conflict resolution, and personal coping strategies. The workshops will be conducted by the faculty and staff of The Center for Student Success. However, Tutors, faculty and staff members from various academic departments and counseling center will be invited to host a workshop.

·Graduation Plans review and discussion of career objectives

·Identification of problem areas and information about campus resources
